SHELTON, CT — A Shelton woman was recently awarded $6.5 million in a wrongful death and medical malpractice lawsuit against Yale University concerning the loss of her baby at 37 weeks during an attempted delivery at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2016, the Connecticut Post reports. According to the Connecticut Post, 37-year-old Jomayra Rodriguez was awarded $1.5 million in regards to the wrongful death claim and $5 million regarding medical malpractice, however the jury ruled in favor of Yale on a count of bystander emotional distress of the baby's father.
